Collaboration with Karishma Advani

In the last weeks of May 2025, we transformed two pedestrian and cycling tunnels in Ommoord – at Cordell-Hullpad and Eliotpad – with a colorful new look. For years, residents had asked for an upgrade, and thanks to a community initiative from De Witte Bollen, we were invited to design and realize this project.

Our goal was to create something that truly belonged to Ommoord. We integrated familiar artworks and visual elements from the neighborhood into the design, so the tunnels would feel recognizable and inviting. Together with local volunteers, we painted the tunnels over several weeks, turning them into bright, welcoming passageways.

By using light colors and open shapes, we wanted the spaces to feel safer and more positive. Working closely with the community made this project deeply meaningful – and seeing the finished tunnels now brings a shared sense of pride and connection.
